Fredon has been awarded the first stage of the Design and Construct Mechanical scope for Stack Data Centre MEL03 in Melbourne.
Valued at approximately $115 million, the first-stage package covers the off-site fabrication component of the mechanical works, commencing in September 2026 and scheduled for completion in March 2028. The works will support the delivery of mechanical systems for 432MW of the 864MW hyperscale data centre campus.
The awarded works form part of a broader mechanical package valued at approximately $300 million, for which Fredon has been selected as Preferred Contractor, with overall completion scheduled for 2028.
Building on Fredon’s previous project experience with Stack Data Centres in Melbourne, MEL03 reflects our growing capability in the delivery of complex mechanical infrastructure for the data centre sector.
NRW Holdings CEO Jules Pemberton said the award further demonstrates Fredon’s capability in the rapidly growing hyperscale data centre market:
“I am pleased to share the award of another major data centre contract secured by Fredon. Melbourne is fast becoming a major hub for hyperscale data centres within Australia, and this award reinforces Fredon’s exceptional ability to deliver these complex scopes of work to their clients.”
MEL03 represents another significant project for our team and reinforces Fredon’s continued involvement in the delivery of Australia’s growing digital infrastructure.
