The ACT Chapter of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) held their 2020-21 Excellence Awards on the 6th of August 2021. The NECA Excellence Awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding commitments, innovations and professionalism of companies within the electrical industry.

We are proud to announce Fredon received State Winner in the Work, Health and Safety category and a Commendation for the Lighting Design and Installation category.

ACT State Winner: Work, Health and Safety Best Practice

Fredon was recognised for the robust WHS procedures that have assisted their achievement in maintaining zero LTI and MTI in the past 12 months.

Ian Knox, ACT HSEQ Manager and the wider Fredon ACT Electrical team have worked together to ensure safety was at the forefront of all projects. A few of their safety practices include a dedicated WHS person on each project site, regular safety inspection and audits, daily hazard and risk discussions and Take 5 risk assessment procedures.

This award follows Fredon ACT’s success in achieving the NECA National Excellence Award for Work, Health and Safety Management (Company) in 2019.

Certificate of Commendation: Tuggeranong Aged Care Project

Fredon ACT received a commendation award for their lighting design and installation on the Tuggeranong Aged Care project, also known as Greenway Views.

The team installed a Casambi Lighting Control System, a low power, wireless Bluetooth lighting control system that does not require any traditional electrical wiring. The installation involved 5000 lighting points across the project and provided energy efficiency benefits aligned with the project’s targeted 5-star Green Star rating.

Fredon was engaged for the Electrical, Communications, Security and Audio Visual Services. Read more about the project here.
