Fredon was proud to represent the construction industry at the 2025 Aboriginal Business Showcase, held in Melbourne in June. The sold-out event welcomed more than 300 participants, including government buyers, major project owners, Tier One contractors, and First Nations businesses.
We were invited to share our approach to Indigenous procurement, outlining key learnings and a practical framework to support meaningful and sustainable engagement with Aboriginal businesses.
Tina Eastman, Fredon’s Social Procurement Lead, shared:
“Our goal is to go beyond compliance, we’re embedding Indigenous participation into the way we deliver projects, creating pathways for partnership, engaging early, and listening to the aspirations and capabilities of Aboriginal businesses.”
Hosted by the Industry Capability Network (ICN) and supported by the Local Jobs First policy, the showcase promotes local content, industry capability, and inclusive economic growth across Victoria’s major government projects.
Fredon looks forward to continuing this important work in collaboration with government and industry, identifying procurement gaps, removing barriers and driving genuine participation across the sector.
