The NECA VIC 2026 Excellence Awards were held on Friday, 28 August 2026, at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, with the gala event celebrating excellence and innovation in the electrotechnology industry. The NECA Awards recognise the individuals, teams, and businesses driving excellence across the electrical and communications industry. With categories covering apprentices, businesses, technical achievement, safety, innovation, leadership, and project excellence, the awards showcase the very best our industry has to offer.

We are proud to announce that our Fredon VIC Electrical & Technology teams were winners in the Voice/Data Communications & Audio Visual and Women in Energy categories:

Winner Voice/Data Communications & Audio Visual – Frankston Hospital

Congratulations to the Fredon Electrical & Technology VIC teams who have been recognised with the Voice/Data Communications & Audio-Visual Award for their work on the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment.

As one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects, the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment demanded innovative, reliable and highly integrated technology solutions to support world-class patient care.

Our team delivered the design, installation, testing and commissioning of a diverse range of complex clinical and non-clinical AV systems, including operating theatres, medical imaging rooms, meeting spaces, IPTV and digital signage. Working collaboratively with project partners, we successfully integrated these systems with the hospital’s ICT and communications infrastructure to create a future-ready healthcare environment.

This award is a testament to the expertise, dedication and collaboration of our Technology team and project partners, whose commitment to excellence made this outstanding achievement possible.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering this award-winning project. We are honoured to have contributed to a facility that will support the healthcare needs of Melbourne’s south-east for generations to come.

Winner Women in Energy Award – Ginger Roberts

We are proud to recognise Ginger Roberts, a fourth-year electrical apprentice with Fredon Victoria, who was named the winner of the Women in Energy Award. Ginger has demonstrated exceptional technical capability throughout her apprenticeship, developing specialised skills in fibre optic splicing, commissioning and complex electrical works. Beyond her technical achievements, Ginger has become a positive role model for other female apprentices, sharing her knowledge, supporting her peers and helping to build confidence among women entering the electrical industry.

Congratulations Ginger, keep up the amazing work.

The Fredon VIC Electrical team were also recognised with a High Commendation in the Leaders in Diversity category, recognising the team’s ongoing commitment to creating more inclusive and diverse pathways across the electrical and construction industry.
