A City Council CCTV Renewal

Services: Installation, Engineering

Client: A Regional City Council

Location: Regional NSW

As part of their Crime Prevention Plan, a regional city council awarded Fredon as the principal contractor to renew their CBD CCTV security system.

The project required Fredon to provide an upgrade of the street CCTV video surveillance systems. Works included installing new high-quality cameras that can capture a wider scope of the environment and location, installation of new cabling, VMS software and server, and network infrastructure.

Due to unforeseen damages on the existing infrastructure from a major flood, Fredon had to quickly modify the proposed design. Fredon provided innovative solutions such as installing wireless networks were existing cabling was unusable and placing solar panels where unswitched power was unavailable.

These modifications added extra pressure on securing specialised equipment in time to meet the project’s practical completion.

However, we are proud to say we succeeded, with works being completed on time in September 2019 and the project being a Finalist at the 2019 ASIAL Awards for Excellence.
