Residents and locals of Crows Nest can look forward to improved transport infrastructure in the area with the new Crows Nest metro station currently in development.

Located 25 metres below ground, the station is part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest line, which forms part of Australia’s biggest public transport project.

Principal contractor, AW Edwards, awarded Fredon with the low voltage electrical and lighting works for the metro station building.

Works began in January 2021, with Fredon supplying and installing:

• Switchboards and components
• General Lighting and Power
• Lighting Control System
• Emergency Lighting
• UPS and Batteries
• Power Factor Correction and Active Harmonic Filters
• Lightning Protection
• Earthing and Bonding
• Cable Containment

Crows Nest metro station is expected to be completed in 2023, and will be opened to the public when Sydney Metro City & Southwest services start in 2024.
