The Frankston Hospital Redevelopment is one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects, delivering a new 12-storey clinical services tower that will significantly expand healthcare capacity for Melbourne’s south-east. The redevelopment will add 130 beds, 15 operating theatres, dedicated mental health and oncology facilities, new maternity and paediatric services, and a modern main entrance, enabling the hospital to treat an additional 35,000 patients each year while reducing waiting times and supporting the region’s growing population.

Fredon was engaged to deliver the Electrical, Communications and Audio Visual (AV) services for both the new development and refurbishment works. Our scope included the design, installation, testing and commissioning of critical communications and AV infrastructure, providing the robust technology platforms required to support modern healthcare delivery.

The project featured the design and deployment of a diverse range of complex clinical and non-clinical AV systems, including operating theatres, medical imaging rooms, meeting rooms, IPTV and digital signage. Fredon Technology’s involvement commenced with the technical design phase, where our team developed the AV solution, documented system integration with the hospital’s ICT and other building systems, and ensured all network security requirements were met.

Following design, Fredon progressed into construction planning and trade coordination, leveraging advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) software to coordinate works across the project. Our team then undertook the construction, installation and commissioning phases, delivering fully integrated, high-performing technology solutions to support the hospital’s day-to-day operations.
