Fredon will be providing their Electrical and Communication expertise to the Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage Two (SQCP-S2) project located in Spring Creek, Queensland. 

The project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government and aims to alleviate overcrowding in the State’s correctional system, and provide improved health and rehabilitation programs for offenders. Once completed, the facility will have the capacity to accommodate 1000 male inmates.

Fredon’s project scope will include the supply, installation, testing, commission of the High Voltage, Low Voltage, and communications system, with specific works including:

  • High Voltage generator upgrade with interfacing into the existing high voltage network
  • Low Voltage services to all buildings
  • Communication services including conduit and pit system, fibre optics, data cabling, cable tray infrastructure, rack and patch leads.
  • Building lightning protection systems
  • Internal and external lighting systems
  • Main Switchboards, distribution boards and UPS boards.

Forecast construction completion in late 2023.
