Fredon was engaged to carry out the electrical works for the brand new Cyclowest facility, which is a $25 million cyclotron and radiopharmaceutical centre. The facility is expected to help meet the growing demand for healthcare services in Western Australia by aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

The construction required the installation of a significant amount of service equipment.

Fredon’s scope of works included:

  • Temporary access/ egress lighting, and power
  • Electrical distribution system including a new SMSB and site transformer in co-operation with Western Power
  • Clean room rated lighting and power installation
  • Building Power redundancy including 100KW UPS and associated distribution system, plus Generator connection systems
  • Emergency power control for specialist services and equipment
  • Wiring and containment installations for Pharmaceutical trades and appliances
  • Antibacterial rated electrical
  • NBN connection, Cat6A structure cabling systems and communications racks
  • Security and Access control systems
  • GMP compliant testing procedures

The challenges of this build were unique. Along with small access areas, once clean room panels were installed they could not be replaced, leaving no room for error. The success of this build is due to high communication and re-assessment throughout the build.

The works commenced in December 2022 and were successfully completed in February 2023.
