Congratulations to Samantha Decolongon, a 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice with Fredon, on receiving the 2023 Transport for NSW Tradesperson Scholarship at the NAWIC NSW Awards for Excellence held on Thursday 30th November.

Sam joined the Fredon team in March 2021 and has been based at the Victoria Cross Station Metro Project since commencing her apprenticeship. Sam consistently surpasses expectations with her outstanding work ethic, quality of work, and commitment to expanding her knowledge. She has proven to be a valuable asset to her team.

Having been involved in the Girls In Trade Program as part of the Lendlease Victoria Cross Station Metro Project for the past two years, Sam has shared her experience and encouraged young women interested in entering the industry. Her presentations to the students have demonstrated her dedication to inspiring more women to join the industry.

The Tradesperson Scholarship recognises achievement in a trade or trade apprenticeship in the construction, building, or related industries and encourages significant contributions of women in trade.

After receiving the award, Samantha delivered an inspiring speech, thanking her supervisors and colleagues. She said, Being a female in trade, I have had the best of luck and experience with my outstanding host, Fredon, and I am so thankful for the opportunities that have arisen.”

Congratulations Samantha on this fantastic achievement.
