This week marks National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), an opportunity for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and consider the role we each play in reconciliation.
During National Reconciliation Week, Fredon is pleased to share that our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been formally approved by Reconciliation Australia.
This milestone provides a framework to help guide how we continue to strengthen relationships, build understanding, and create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over time.
As part of the RAP, Fredon CEO Scott Olsen shared the following commitment:
“Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan is the first step in formally committing to reconciliation. It’s about building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing cultural awareness across our workforce, and ensuring we make a meaningful contribution to the communities where we live and work.”
The development of Fredon’s RAP has been a collaborative effort across the business, and we would like to acknowledge the contribution of the RAP Working Group. Their commitment and collaboration have helped establish an important foundation for the work ahead.
While this is only the beginning of the journey, the RAP provides a clear starting point for meaningful and ongoing action across the business.
