Last Friday, Fredon attended the annual Victorian Chapter of the National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) State Excellence Award for 2022.
We are delighted to share we won first place in the Commercial Large Project category for our works on the redevelopment of Melbourne Olympic Park.
Fredon worked in a live environment over the two years on the project, delivering major electrical infrastructure upgrades, light and power, communications, and world-class standard feature sports lighting at the Show Court Arena and outside match courts.
This project also aimed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification, an international green building certification for sustainability achievement. To meet the requirements of the accreditation, Fredon designed and installed a few energy-saving solutions, such as –
- light fittings with increased lifespan and lower energy consumption costs
- lighting control system utilised, including daylight harvesting
- 122kW Solar System that is integrated into the existing site electrical infrastructure.
These solutions have contributed to the project’s overall achievement of a LEED Gold Certification.
