Fredon was honoured to welcome the Local Jobs First Commissioner, Moana Weir, to the Fairfield VIC Office, for a meaningful discussion on social procurement and inclusive engagement within the construction industry. The Commissioner’s visit was prompted by widespread recognition of Fredon’s leadership in this space and a genuine interest in understanding how our team is embedding real change through policy implementation and project delivery.
Our General Managers and Social Procurement Lead shared key learnings, innovative practices, and reflections on how current policies work in practice and where there may be opportunities for refinement, to support contractors and local industry outcomes better.
Fredon also had the opportunity to provide constructive feedback on how the Local Jobs First policy could evolve to create more practical, impactful, and scalable solutions across the supply chain, particularly in supporting Aboriginal businesses, social enterprises, and local workforce participation.
We thank the Commissioner for the visit and for engaging in an open, forward-thinking dialogue. Fredon remains committed to not only delivering on inclusive procurement outcomes but also supporting policy improvements and helping other contractors who are on the journey to build capability and drive positive change across the industry.
