Batemans Bay Regional Aquatic, Arts & Leisure Centre

Services: Installation, Engineering

Client: ADCO Constructions

Location: Batemans Bay, NSW

After over 50 years of operations, the former Batemans Bay pool was retired to make way for a modern all-purpose leisure and arts facility to meet the local community’s needs.

Joining ADCO Constructions, Fredon delivered the mechanical services of the new facility. The new centre features an indoor aquatic centre complete with a 25-metre pool, 10-metre pool, water play area and gym. The cultural centre will have a 350 seat auditorium, dance studio, gallery space, art workshops spaces.

Fredon’s work on this project included presenting value engineering solutions. We demonstrated that reducing the heat pumps from 10 to 5 units allowed for the chilled water from the heat pumps to cool down the fan coil units. Ultimately, simplify ductworks in the mechanical system and reducing energy usage and maximising operational cost savings.

The new centre was officially named the ‘Bay Pavilions’ in May 2021 and was opened to the public in June 2022.
