Bradbury Depot was selected by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and its operator, Transit Systems, to undergo major electrification works as part of the transition to a Zero Emission Bus fleet. The upgrade supports the near-term requirement for 25 Western Sydney Buses and delivers the charging infrastructure necessary to meet the TfNSW Works Brief.

Fredon successfully completed the full AFC design and construction within the client’s stretch target timeframe, ensuring the depot was ready for the arrival and operation of the new ZEB fleet.

The project involved a full turnkey solution from concept development through to certified detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Works were delivered to enable charging for the initial 25 Zero Emission Buses, with provisions included to future-proof the depot for full electrification. Due to limited existing electrical capacity, the site required the installation of a new Endeavour Energy 11kV kiosk to provide additional low-voltage supply. All works were completed in accordance with TfNSW requirements and specifications.

Project works included site investigations; development of preliminary and detailed design; installation of a new Endeavour Energy 11kV kiosk and associated cabling; installation of a new 2500A Main Switch Board (MSB); installation of all required control, communications, and low-voltage cabling; installation of three C803 Kempower charging cabinets and eleven dual SCC5DS Kempower satellites; integration with the site load controller and dynamic charge management systems; and the supply, testing, and commissioning of all equipment.
