LaTrobe University’s Sports Park located in Bundoora, Melbourne’s North, underwent a two-stage redevelopment as part of the university’s 10-year University City of the Future Plan.

Fredon provided Electrical, High Voltage and Communication services to Stage 2 of the redevelopment which involved the build of a 5-Star Green Star teaching and research facility, a multipurpose indoor stadium with six highball courts and office spaces for commercial use.

Specific works completed by Fredon include:

• 22kV sub installation
• 540kW solar panel system
• Lighting installation including the indoor stadium, walkways and exterior areas
• Emergency and exit signs
• Cat6A, fibre communication and MATV installations
• Fire detection installation and building occupant warning system
• Security and CCTV installation

Stage 2 was fully completed in January 2020, providing both the local communities and elite athletes new facilities for education, exercise and training.
