Fredon worked on the South Dynon Maintenance Depot upgrade project, providing installation of Electrical Infrastructure to aging facilities. The depot located in West Melbourne opened in 1964 and is a key servicing and stabling maintenance site for diesel run trains in Melbourne.

The project, led by principal contractor Laing O’Rourke, included the upgrade of tracks 5-8, new office, storage areas and new dangerous good fluid reticulation.

Fredon completed a dilapidation report before demolishing the existing electrical infrastructure in the 60-year-old facility. Works completed included:

• Mains & Submains
• UPS Systems
• General & Emergency lighting
• Distribution boards
• Dangerous goods fluid reticulation system
• Earthing sitewide
• Communications
• Audiovisual
• PA system
• CCTV & security

Fredon began works in July 2020 and completed the works within 9 months.
