The NECA QLD 2025 Excellence Awards were held on Friday, 19 September 2025 at The W Brisbane, with the gala event celebrating the achievements of the Queensland electrical industry. The awards program highlights excellence across a wide range of categories, including Apprentice, Small Business, and recognition in technical, safety, innovation, and management initiatives within the electrical and communications sector.
We are proud to announce that our Fredon QLD team were winners in two categories:
- Lighting Design & Construct – Queen’s Wharf Lighting Facade
- Commercial X-Large Project – Queen’s Wharf Brisbane IRD Part A
Senior Project Administrator, Amy Stewart, was also recognised with a Commendation for the Women in Energy category.

Queen’s Wharf – Commercial X-Large Project and Lighting Design & Construct Awards
Fredon’s Electrical work on the Queen’s Wharf Integrated Resort Development has been recognised at the 2025 NECA QLD Excellence Awards as the winners in the Commercial Extra Large and Lighting Design & Construct categories.
Delivered for Multiplex, Queen’s Wharf is a landmark development reshaping Brisbane’s CBD. Spanning four towers and more than 500,000sqm of mixed-use space, the project includes luxury hotel and resort facilities, residences, a sky deck, casino, retail, and entertainment precincts.
Fredon was engaged to deliver the complete electrical services package for Part A, incorporating high voltage and reticulation systems, emergency and essential power, communications and structured cabling, intelligent lighting control, and extensive architectural lighting installations across the towers and podium.
This was a uniquely complex project, with multiple concurrent tower builds, significant public interface, heritage preservation zones, requiring tight coordination and meticulous planning.
In addition to delivering across scale, our lighting design and execution were standout features—balancing aesthetics and performance to meet strict requirements for energy efficiency, functionality, and architectural impact.

Women in Energy Award – Amy Stewart
We’re proud to share that Amy Stewart has been recognised by NECA QLD at this year’s Excellence Awards with a High Commendation in the Women in Energy category.
A Senior Project Administrator at Fredon Electrical QLD, Amy brings more than a decade of experience to the electrical industry, combining project delivery, operational leadership, and a deep commitment to mentoring and advocacy.
Amy plays a key role in the success of Fredon’s major Queensland projects, coordinating project administration across multiple sites, leading stakeholder communications, and managing critical operational processes. She also supports recruitment, training, and financial reporting, and was instrumental in Fredon’s work on Queen’s Wharf and other large scale builds.
Amy’s drive to create a more inclusive and equitable industry has seen her mentor trainees, help elevate women in trade roles through recognition programs like NAWIC, and support internal diversity initiatives. Her advocacy is helping shift perceptions, break down barriers, and inspire the next generation of women in construction.
