The Queen’s Wharf Brisbane once completed will transform Brisbane’s CBD and its rivers edge and will be a tourism, leisure, and entertainment destination. The design embraces Brisbane’s tropical climate and celebrates the precinct’s Indigenous and European heritage. The development will house the new The Star Brisbane, bringing a range of entertainment options, world-class hotels, dining, spectacular sky-high views, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

Once fully operational the precinct will encompass:

  • Over 1,000 hotel rooms under hotels The Star Grand, Rosewood Hotel & Dorsett Hotel
  • Up to 2,000 residential apartments
  • Sky Deck, 100 metres above the river
  • Leisure Deck, an open-air oasis, 35 metres above street level
  • An array of restaurants and bars, and new exciting retail
  • Brisbane’s largest hotel ballroom
  • Brisbane’s only casino
  • 5 hectares of public space
  • The protection and repurposing of heritage buildings
  • Neville Bonner, pedestrian only, bridge connecting Queen’s Wharf & South Bank

Fredon QLD was awarded the electrical and communications infrastructure installation contract along with the fit out from Level B5 to Level 01.

The works comprised of:

  • 5 Kilometres of HV Infrastructure through Brisbane CBD
  • HV Substations (5 off) including Switch Boards and RMU’s Internal HV cables throughout the complex
  • LV Infrastructure including new MSB’s
  • 3 x LV Generators (6MVA)
  • UPS Systems
  • Lighting Control and Emergency Lighting Systems
  • Intelligent Power Management Systems (iPMS)
  • LV Distribution Boards Basements L00-L01, towers 2 and 3 (23 levels), and tower 1 (41 levels)
  • Full Communications System and fit out including Fibre & Data B5-L01
  • Communication Infrastructure and backbone Towers 2/3 and 1
  • Lighting Protection System, site-wide

This new precinct is due to be open to the public in August 2024.
