On Friday, 29th August, the VIC Chapter of the National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) hosted their 2025 Annual Awards, celebrating excellence across the Electrical and Communications industry.
We’re proud to share that the Fredon VIC team was recognised across several categories, taking home state wins for Commercial Large Projects, Leaders in Diversity, Work Health & Safety, and Voice/Data & Communications.
VIC State Winner Commercial Large Projects: Wyndham Law Courts
Fredon is proud to share that our work on the Wyndham Law Courts has been recognised at the 2025 NECA VIC Excellence Awards as the winner in the Commercial Large Project category.
Delivered in collaboration with Lendlease, the Wyndham Law Courts is the largest court complex outside Melbourne’s CBD, delivering thirteen courtrooms, four hearing rooms, three mediation suites, and twenty-six day-only holding cells to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Wyndham LGA. Fredon delivered the complete electrical and communications package, including main switchboards, UPS, DAS, EV charging stations, and a 160kW rooftop solar system.
The project presented significant challenges in sequencing, coordination, and design integration. Our VIC Electrical team employed BIM modelling, advanced seismic design, and DALI lighting systems to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and long-term performance. The project targeted a 6 Star Green Star – Design & As Built rating, supported through initiatives such as solar power, smart lighting controls, and extensive waste reduction and recycling.
Despite tight schedules and evolving designs, Fredon delivered a high-quality project on time and within budget.

VIC State Winner Work Health and Safety – Excellence In Action: Anthony Minutolo
Fredon is proud to share that Anthony Minutolo has been recognised at the 2025 NECA VIC Excellence Awards as the winner in the Work Health & Safety – Excellence in Action category.
Anthony, a veteran electrician with over 30 years of experience, courageously shared his story of a serious electrical injury sustained 15 years ago. Filmed at the site of his incident, Anthony’s message: “speak up, ask questions, and never accept near enough as good enough”, has become the centrepiece of a powerful national Lockout/Tagout safety video.
This initiative has been rolled out across Fredon projects nationally and shared with major clients, sparking valuable conversations about safety culture. The video has not only raised awareness of electrical hazards but has also driven measurable improvements in incident reporting and proactive risk management.
Anthony’s lived experience and dedication to safety earned him Fredon’s internal HSEQ Award and now recognition on the industry stage. His story continues to inspire future generations of electricians and reinforces our belief that safety is more than compliance, it is culture.

This recognition reflects the hard work of our project teams, our partners, and our communities in embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into everything we do. From Indigenous business engagement to partnerships with disability enterprises and pathways for disadvantaged individuals, our commitment is simple: to build projects that deliver not only technical excellence but also real social impact.
Congratulations to the VIC Electrical team and Tina Eastman (Social Procurement Lead) for driving meaningful change and setting a benchmark for diversity in our industry.
It was a hugely successful night for our Victorian Electrical team, who were recognised across several categories. The team will now go on to represent Victoria at the NECA National Excellence Awards in each of these categories.
We’re also proud to acknowledge Jenna Humphries, who was named a finalist in the 4th Year ELV/Communications Apprentice of the Year category.
