Fredon’s Light Commercial Team was engaged to replace an ageing rooftop package unit servicing an operational restaurant. The project required a complete redesign of the air conditioning system and delivery within a highly compressed four-week timeframe, all while ensuring the tenant experienced zero disruption to trading.

The scope of works included the replacement of 120 kWr of cooling capacity, delivered with no downtime to the business. To achieve this, Fredon prefabricated a 120 kWr packaged unit skid and factory-assembled duct modules to minimise on-site works and reduce installation time. All materials were vertically transported and installed via a single crane lift, with temporary cooling and ventilation provided throughout the changeover period. From order to commissioning, the entire project was completed within four weeks.

Safety and coordination were critical to the project’s success. Fredon worked closely with the tenant and Scentre Group to develop and execute a detailed lift and traffic management plan. Pedestrian and vehicle safety were prioritised, with all lifting activities completed by 9:30am to minimise impact on centre operations, tenants and the public.
