Concord Hospital, one of Sydney’s largest and most established hospitals, underwent a major redevelopment after 75 years of service. The project included the construction of a new 44,000 m² Clinical Services Building to expand Aged Complex Care, Veterans’ Physical and Mental Health Services, and Rehabilitation Services. The redevelopment also integrated a new purpose-built Cancer Care Centre and Inpatient Services, connected to the existing hospital via a three-level atrium.

Fredon was engaged to deliver critical electrical infrastructure works as part of the redevelopment. This included the replacement of High Voltage Switchboards at Substations 1 and 6.

Specific works included:

– Manufacture and supply of new High Voltage Switchboards

– Decommissioning, removal, and safe disposal of existing HV equipment

– Onsite preparatory works, installation, testing, and commissioning

– Coordination and completion of all associated electrical infrastructure works

These works contribute to ensuring the long-term reliability and capacity of the hospital’s electrical systems, supporting the enhanced service delivery within the new facility.
