Fredon was engaged to complete the LED lighting upgrades at CBUS Super Stadium and Suncorp Stadium in Queensland.

The project involved removing the old metal sports lighting at both stadiums and installing and commissioning the LED lighting and the associated control systems.

The upgrades were completed in stages, taking place in live and operational environments and adhering to a strict project schedule due to programmed sporting and music events. 

This highly technical project involved Fredon working on gantries at 27 meters and 35 metres above the ground. The team set up a production line to preassemble parts on ground level to minimise time spent on the gantry level.

Fredon’s scope of works included:

• Reconfiguration of sub-mains to distribution boards and associated cable containment
• Wiring cables for power outlets from each tenant distribution board
• New lighting installation and fixtures
• New lighting control system (Dynalite)
• Power feeds to supply new media converters
• New communications Cat6a cabling for data outlets in production rooms
• Communications backbone copper & fibre cabling

Fredon completed the works in February 2020.
