Fredon has been appointed as Mechanical contractor for Melbourne Quarter Tower.

Located nearby Southern Cross Station, Melbourne Quarter Tower is the final stage the Melbourne Quarter precinct. Once built, the 36 storey premium grade commercial tower will complete the precinct’s public square, create laneway connections to Flinders and Collins Street, and complete the final component of the Sky Park, Melbourne’s first elevated public park.

The team will complete the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning, and maintenance of the mechanical systems. The works will target 6-star Greenstar and 5.5-star NABERS energy ratings and include:

• installing an energy-efficient, low-temperature Variable Air Volume (VAV) system and active perimeter Chilled Beams supplied by Central Air Handling Units (AHUs).
• installing a Chilled Water Central Plant comprising four in-series counterflow water-cooled, Variable Speed Drive (VSD) HFO chillers with variable primary chilled water pumping.
• the team will also incorporate their skills in prefabrication of plant rooms, risers and horizontal modules wherever practical

Melbourne Quarter Tower is due for completion in 2024
