Downer Engineering enlisted the expertise of Fredon to play a pivotal role in the Design and Construction of a fully Electric Bus Depot that operates entirely on Renewable Energy.

This establishment stands as Queensland’s first 100% Electric Bus Depot, aligning with the State Government’s ambitious initiative to super-charge the delivery of Zero-Emission vehicles.

Fredon undertook a comprehensive scope of works, including:

  • HV, LV, Earthing, and Civil/Structural Design
  • Establishing a new 11kV Connection (LCC)
  • Installation of an 11kV/415V Substation
  • Installation of an Outdoor Main Switchboard (MSB)
  • Installation of 150kW DC Fast Chargers
  • Installation of a 700kVA Bio-Diesel Standby Generator
  • Installation of Dynamic Charge Management Systems
  • Installation of all associated Communications, Control, LV, and HV cables

This ambitious project reached successful completion in May 2023.
