The St John of God Subiaco Hospital Stage Two project is a significant health infrastructure upgrade designed to enhance the hospital’s functionality and patient experience. This stage includes the refurbishment and upgrade of the main hospital entrance and lobby, the replacement of patient lifts throughout the campus, improvements to the existing multi-storey carpark, and extensive upgrades to the secondary and tertiary engineering services. Works also cover the installation of a new site energy plant and site water plant, as well as the relocation of critical power services and switchgear.

Fredon have been engaged to deliver the complete design, supply, and installation of mechanical and electrical services for this major health infrastructure upgrade.

Key project elements include the construction of a new site energy plant and associated infrastructure, a new site water plant, new high voltage (HV) switchrooms with the relocation of existing HV supplies, and the demolition of existing switchrooms and the chilled water plant. The project also involves building a new main hospital reception, renovations and modifications to the existing North Block, the installation of new site-wide chilled water infrastructure with capacity for future expansion, and the refurbishment and upgrade of existing hospital areas. Additional works include new plantrooms and prefabricated chilled water system elements, new HV intake switchrooms, a backup HV generator system with load control, and value engineering solutions developed by Fredon and approved by the client.
