The Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre is a new high security men’s correctional facility. The centre has been designed to support long-term rehabilitative outcomes through the delivery of onsite mental health, alcohol and drug rehabilitation, education, and vocational training services.

Fredon Queensland was engaged by John Holland to deliver the complete Electrical and Communications Services package for the Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre project.

Fredon’s scope included the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical and communications systems across the facility, including high and low voltage reticulation, switchboards, emergency power systems, general and specialist lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and the integration of communications, security, and data networks.

Designed and delivered to stringent correctional standards, the electrical and communications infrastructure provides the durability, tamper resistance, and reliability required for a high-security environment, supporting the facility’s operational efficiency, safety, and long-term performance.

Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre project team won the Voice/Data Communications & Audio-Visual Award at the 2026 NECA QLD Awards.
