Partnership: MATES in Construction

By August 15, 2023No Comments

Fredon is proud to announce its NSW Tier 1 Partnership with MATES in Construction.

Sadly, construction workers are six times more likely to die from suicide than an accident at work. MATES in Construction is an industry-based charity established in 2008 to reduce the level of suicide among Australian construction workers. MATES help in the prevention of suicide through on-site development programs, supporting workers through case management, and a 24/7 helpline.

MATES NSW CEO Brad Parker joined our team out at Powerhouse Parramatta to mark the occasion, together with Fredon’s National HSEQ Manager Andrew Campbell, Electrical NSW General Manager Chris Stanin, and National Infrastructure Manager Troy Brewster.

A long-time champion of MATES In Construction, Andrew Campbell spoke about the importance of their work.

“This industry partnership is the next step in our commitment to raising awareness and addressing the issue of suicide in our industry and community. While we’ve been a supporter of MATES In Construction for several years now, we hope that this partnership will contribute to MATES In Construction’s goal to eliminate suicide from the construction industry.”
